In Big Eyes, Amy Adams stars as a painter whose work is being taken credit for by her husband, played by Christoph Waltz. The film deals with themes of motherhood and the struggles of being a female in the 60's. Adams and Waltz are both great as usual. Waltz steals the last half of the film in a hilarious scene that some might find too cartoonish. It's also great to see Tim Burton direct a normal film.

Some films go beyond just entertainment value and enter the ambiguous dimension of abstract art. Under the Skin is that film. Does it succeed in creating high art in the form of film? I'm not sure. There's a lot to like about Skin, but there's quite a bit that's off-putting. I applaud any film that's not afraid to be different and Skin has that in spades. Like it or hate it, it deserves to be seen.

Sex Tape is another one of those films that showed most of the funny parts in the trailer. There are a few laughs to be mined, but the story takes too long to get going. Jason Segal is dependable as usual, but Sex Tape leaves quite a few opportunities for laughs on the floor.
